Road Dog Tour is a Split Reed original series, following host: Zach Rutledge, along his highway adventures in pursuit of all things waterfowl.
This series was designed to speak to the average waterfowl hunter. Shot primarily in a POV format, mixed in with to-camera commentary from Zach, our host, Road Dog Tour (RDT) brings the viewer along on each hunt with them.
By focusing on themes of buddy hunts, public lands, and lots of “road dogging”, this series aims to offer our audience a look at an idealistic, yet obtainable waterfowl hunting experience.

Road Dog Tour is captured and released with live action in mind. As content is shot, it’s immediately being turned around by the Split Reed editing team so that audiences can experience the action in almost real time. Did you feel that cold front that came in last week? Well, you might see it on this week’s episode of RDT.

Distributed across all Split Reed channels, Road Dog Tour is a season-long immersion into freelance waterfowl hunting. We roll episodes out on a bi-weekly cadence, on YouTube, and Splitreed.com, so that we can keep the train rolling from November to January.
With custom-cut social content intermixed with each episode, RDT is always on the mind and reaching new audiences.

It’s a conscious choice to not have Road Dog Tour be too polished. We want it to feel like handy cam footage your buddy dug up from last year’s hunt. The goal with this series isn’t to wow audiences with cinematic spectacles shot on $400K lenses. It’s to show them something real that they can relate with and enjoy while they prepare for their next hunt.
The beauty of Road Dog Tour is that it takes place all over the West. Whether it’s an Idaho river hole on public land, or a phrag island on the Great Salt Lake, there’s always something new to be seen and experienced. This is no studio shoot, our team is really out there, getting it done no matter where duty calls.
These last 3 seasons of Road Dog Tour were just us getting started. As the series grows, so will the opportunities. Be it newer and bigger guest appearances or spreading out hunts all over the country, this series is set up to grow at an exponential rate.

Road Dog Tour hosts a helping of different partners, both endemic, and non-endemic to the waterfowl space. As a RDT partner, you’ll receive logo and product inclusion in each episode, along with being tagged and featured in all supporting media across our channels.
Additionally, all partners of the series receive a batch of photos and video from the season, featuring a mixed bag of lifestyle and product-specific content.
